Zone Cabling

Zone Cabling
Fiber optic cable (as opposed to copper in Cat 5) is run to each cluster and connected to users with Cat 5. In the event of a reconfiguration the fiber can be unplugged and relocated so the only Cat 5 cable that needs to be rethreaded is that between the end of the fiber and each workstation.

Benefits:
50% savings on adds, moves, changes
Better data integrity because the fiber optic cable ends much closer to each workstation
With Herman Miller in-panel or under-worksurface cabinet options you save on expensive real estate costs

Consolidation Point Cabling

Consolidation Points
Requires one Category 5 cable per workstation. Cannot simply unplug and relocate. In the event of a reconfiguration, each affected cable must be removed back to the consolidation point and rethreaded.

Home Run Cabling

Home Run Cabling
One Category 5 cable is run to each workstation. In the event of a reconfiguration, each affected cable must be removed back to the entry point and rethreaded.
