Zone Power and Data Distribution

Of the three cabling scenarios currently available, SOF can help you choose the method that will best suit your needs.

Zone Cabling

Facility-Related Services

Zone Cabling

Fiber optic cable (as opposed to copper in Category 5) is run to each cluster and connected to users with Cat 5. In the event of a reconfiguration the fiber can be unplugged and relocated so the only Cat 5 cable that needs to be rethreaded is that between the end of the fiber and each workstation.

Benefits:

  • 50% savings on adds, moves, changes
  • Better data integrity because the fiber optic cable ends much closer to each workstation
  • With Herman Miller in-panel or under-worksurface cabinet options you save on expensive real estate costs
